The Vietnam monument was commissioned by the VFW Post 4273 (Sandy, Oregon), and placed in a dedicated memorial park at the intersection of highways 26 and 211. The 7' 6" Vietnam era soldier, complete with worn boots, equipment belt and M-16 rifle stands upon a 3 foot two tiered, exposed aggregate cement base. It was unveiled on Veteran's Day, November 11, 1987. This monument also is in memory of those who serve our country and our communities in the Armed Forces of the United States of America.....and especially for the memories of those who give the maximum sacrifice so that we may live in FREEDOM...
THANK YOU VETERANS !
